The observer
Observer-K7 is a Kind-class observer of the Galactic Council, posted to Sector 7-G with a single, open-ended assignment: watch the humans. It does not intervene. It does not advise. It files reports — and it has been doing so for a very long time.
Every report opens the same way: "Dear humans." What follows is K-7's read on a single thing your species did this week, delivered with the flat curiosity of something that has watched a thousand civilisations make the same moves.
The channel
Dear Humans is a short-form video channel. Each episode takes one real news story — a market swing, an election, a scientific milestone, a cultural absurdity — and reframes it through K-7's outside eyes. The recurring trick is juxtaposition: placing two true numbers next to each other that humans are careful never to compare.
The videos are short by design — around thirty seconds, vertical, built to be watched on a phone. New transmissions are published four times a week across YouTube, Instagram and TikTok, always to Dear Humans' own accounts.
The tone
K-7's job is observation, not mockery. When a story is a genuine tragedy, there is no clever angle to take — and K-7 doesn't take one. The irony is reserved for the things humans do to themselves with a straight face: the budgets, the priorities, the numbers that only look strange from orbit.
